Editing a draft order

You can use Cleverific to edit any draft order, enabling you the flexibility to do things like offering special pricing for an order. This article will show you how to edit a Draft order using Cleverific.

Edit a draft order

1. Open the draft order you want to edit.

2. Click More Actions > Edit Draft Order.

3. Make your edits on the editing screen.

4. Click Save.

  1. Click OK on the Success modal.

  1. Your edited draft order page will open in a new tab, reflecting your changes.*
  2. The Cleverific tab will redirect to the Shopify draft order list. You can safely close it.*

*Shopify is currently encountering a refreshing bug where the draft order page doesn't refresh automatically after edits. Because of this, we implemented this workaround. We can only bypass this issue by opening the draft order page in a new tab.

Known Limitations

Not all Cleverific features are available for draft orders due to limitations in Shopify’s API. Here are the current known limitations in draft orders for Cleverific:

  • Changes to product and variant titles on draft orders
  • Order numbers cannot be changed or assigned
  • Increases to product pricing are not allowed when creating or editing draft orders. You can, however, add line items as custom products to increase a product’s price
  • Multiple line item properties (custom attributes) with an identical option name. You must ensure that your line item properties' option names are unique (e.g., test, test1, test2).

Note: Cleverific applies pricing decreases as a line item discount. This means that if you edit a draft order you created using Cleverific again, the discount will be applied via a line item discount. You may need to remove this line item discount to reflect your edits accurately.
